occupational therapy

I am Jenna Your Senior Occupational Therapist

My Story

I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. In-between a few years off with my babies, I worked with young children who have disabilities, within their schooling context. As a paediatric OT, I understand children within the developmental framework, but also consider their unique sensory, motor and psycho-social characteristics.

I love to help children overcome challenges; to develop, improve, or regain the skills they need for everyday activities.

My Role

My role here is to partner with you, to create a safe space for your family to navigate the next steps on the therapy journey, to advocate for you, problem solve with you, to empower and equip you to set and attain your goals. Our sessions together will be individualised, harnessing strengths and addressing specific needs through purposeful discussions and targeted activities.

Specific areas of interest include:

  • Play

  • Sensory Processing

  • Emotional & Behavioral Regulation

  • Fine Motor Function (including handwriting)

  • Social Skills Training

  • Nature-Based Therapy

  • Attachment & Trauma Informed Approaches

  • Culturally Safe & Sensitive Approaches

where can we provide telehealth appointments?

At Home

We do our best to provide a range of appointment times that suit the rhythms of families.

At School

We can work with your school to find an appropriate time and place for your child to link in with our team if this is suitable.

Parent Coaching

Some appointments may be best conducted with the parent or guardian to discuss the best strategies for working with your child.

Where It’s Convenient

Families are regularly on the move. We will work with your family to balance therapy requirements with your family’s commitments and rhythms.

Do we provide therapy to children with ndis funding?

We provide services for plan and self-managed children.

Early Intervention (under 7 years old)

We provide services to children under 7 who have received funding from the NDIS. These interventions are so important for long term outcomes. We are excited to help families who require this support.

Therapeutic Supports (over 7)

We provide therapy to children over 7 until 18 years old. On a case-by-case basis, we will provide services to adults. This gives Access to Therapy an opportunity to provide consistent therapy, building rapport with the child, families and schools over many years.
